Identification of iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies by clinical nutritional evaluation
The ability to detect micronutrients deficiencies by clinical examination was assessed in 79 patients (average age 75 years), most of them being at risk of protein-energy malnutrition (n=66). Clinical signs of iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies were noted and related to biochemical criteria of nutritional state.
