Identification of kappa-casein genotypes and the BLAD mutation in cattle using the polymerase chain reaction

, : Identification of kappa-casein genotypes and the BLAD mutation in cattle using the polymerase chain reaction. Tsitologiya i Genetika 29(6): 60-63

DNA from 10 Holstein, 13 Russian Simmental and 16 Ukrainian Black Pied cows was amplified by the polymerase chain reaction, using primers for kappa -casein alleles and the BLAD (bovine leukocyte adhesion deficiency) mutation. In the 3 breeds respectively, the frequency of the kappa -CnA allele was 0.750, 0.730 and 0.656, and that of the kappa -CnB allele 0.250, 0.270 and 0.344.
