, : Identification of sources of resistance to Didymella bryoniae. Horticultura Brasileira 14(1): 15-17

Some 70 accessions of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) from the states of Bahia, Pernambuco and Maranhao, Brazil, and one from the USDA-ARS, were screened against D. bryoniae in 3 trials. Inoculum (3.18 x 105 conidia/ml) was sprayed on the aerial parts of the plant following wounding of cotyledons and young leaves. Plants were also inoculated using needles to puncture the stems. After inoculation, plants were incubated in a wet chamber for 48 h.
