Increase in grain yield in pigeon pea due to chemical control of insect pests

Insecticides were applied for the control of Empoasca kerri, Megalurothrips usitatus, Heliothis armigera Euchrysops cnejus and Melanagromyza obtusa on pigeon peas during kharif 1987 in New Delhi, India. The greatest grain yield (1375 kg/ha) and maximum net profit (Rs. 2736) were recorded with 0.004% deltamethrin.
