Indexing of apple trees for apple mosaic virus, apple chlorotic leaf spot virus and apple stem grooving virus by ELISA

Leaf samples were collected during 1992-93 surveys of apple orchards in the Aegean region, Turkey. ELISA was used to detect apple mosaic ilarvirus (AMV), apple chlorotic leaf spot trichovirus (ACLSV) and apple stem grooving capillovirus (ASGV) in apple leaf extracts. Of 450 samples tested in 1992, 4 were infected with AMV. Of 220 samples collected in 1993, 63 (28.6%) were infected with ACLSV and 52 (23.6%) with ASGV.
