Cercetari Agronomice in Moldova 29(1/2): 71-80



In 1992-94 on a typic cambic chernozem at Secuieni-Neamt, barley Victoria was sown on 3 dates at 5 rates and 0, 50 or 100 kg N/ha was applied. Grain yields increased with increase in sowing rate, were greater with 100 kg N than with 50 kg N (3.29 and 3.13 t/ha, respectively) and decreased with increase in lateness of sowing (3.58, 3.55 and 2.49 t). The number of days from sowing to emergence was 11-147 and varied according to the sowing date and weather conditions.
