Inheritance of blast resistance in the tongil-type rice cultivars

The blast resistant cultivars Suweon 299, Suweon 300, Suweon 341, Milyang 82 and Taebaegbyeo were crossed with 8 tongil-type rice cultivars which were susceptible to race KI-315. The other resistant cultivars Baegyangbyeo and Samgangbyeo were crossed with the resistant cultivars mentioned above. The F-1 and F-2 plants were tested for their reactions to race KI-315 at 20-day after seeding. Blast resistance was seemed to be controlled by a single dominant gene in the cultivars Suweon 299, Suweon 300, Suweon 341, Milyang 82 and Taebaegbyeo. Baegyangbyeo and Samgangbyeo posessed the same resistant gene with Taebaegbyeo, but the gene was different from that of Suweon 299, Suweon 300, Suweon 341 and Milyang 82.
