Inheritance of some agronomic characters related to cold tolerance under cold water treatment in rice

Hybrids from crosses between cold tolerant and susceptible varieties were evaluated under normal and cold water conditions. Segregation for leaf discoloration due to cold in the F2 showed that cold resistance was inherited simply in 4 of the 7 crosses made. In the F1 and F2, long culms and panicles were dominant, while reduction in culm and panicle length by cold treatment was an overdominant or partially dominant trait.
