Three new jatrophane diterpenes, esulatins A-C, were isolated and characterized from the whole, undried plants of E. esula (collected from Hungary). By means of spectral analysis, the structures were established as pentaesters and heptaesters of hitherto unknown, polyfunctional diterpene parent alcohols.
