Maize water use as affected by nitrogen fertilisation

, : Maize water use as affected by nitrogen fertilisation. Soil fertility and climatic constraints in dryland agriculture: Proceedings of ACIAR/SACCAR Workshop, Harare, Zimbabwe, 30 August 1 September 1993: 15-18

In a field experiment in 1992/93 at 2 sites in Zimbabwe, maize grain yields were highest with 60 kg N/ha given as ammonium nitrate, increasing by about 2 t/ha over the control (given no N) yield, but water use was not significantly changed with the increase in N rate.
