Making rural development work: cultural hybridization of farmers' organizations. The Adja case in Benin
The publication considers the extent to which accountability mechanisms contribute to the effectiveness of farmers' organizations in Benin, and examines how external development agencies can contribute to building viable accountability mechanisms into these organizations for development purposes. Research was conducted in Mono Province and focused on farmers' organizations established by government agencies, those established by NGOs and organizations initiated by farmers themselves.
