Making the combine-harvester fit for the maize grain harvest
With the increasing area of maize (grain and cob maize) being grown in eastern Germany, some practical recommendations are made on the choice and operation of combine harvesters for maize. Large combines selected for harvesting grain maize are: Case IH 2188, Claas Mega 218 and Lexion 480, Deutz-Fahr Topliner 4090H, New Holland TF78, John Deere 2066, Massey Ferguson MF40 RS, and MDW E 527ST5.
