, : Malaria in Uruguay: survey of cases resulting from the return of military personnel from endemic areas. Parasitologia al Dia 20(1/2): 4-9

Uruguayan military personnel are given chemoprophylaxis and advice on protection against malaria before and during overseas postings to endemic areas. During the period 14 January 1993 to 30 March 1995, 150 cases (3.62%) of malaria were reported among 4143 returning troops. These comprised 114 cases from Cambodia (76%) and 36 from Mozambique (24%).
