Male sterility of rice and ammonia accumulation
In pot experiments with rice, application of 0.1 or 0.3 mM bialaphos markedly increased the incidence of male sterility. Bialaphos increased the level of ammonium ions in plants but application of ammonium ions or ammonium sulphate did not increase male sterility.
