Management of fungal diseases of western larch seed and seedlings

, : Management of fungal diseases of western larch seed and seedlings. General Technical Report Intermountain Research Station, USDA Forest Service ( INT-GTR-319): 300-306

Several fungal diseases adversely affect production of western larch (Larix occidentalis) in container and bare root forest nurseries in the Pacific Northwest. Grey mould caused by Botrytis cinerea may cause widespread problems, but use of fungicides should be limited. Seedling protection from needle cast caused by Meria laricis can be sought with fungicides. Fusarium and Cylindrocarpon, among other pathogenic fungi, cause damping-off, cotyledon blight and root disease.
