Some account is given of development aid in the Sahel region of Niger, viz. the PUSF (Planning and Utilization of Soils and Forests) project financed by USAID, the involvement of the DED (German Development Service), and the Energy II project financed by Denmark (DANIDA). The current status of the Energy II project is described, for the orderly management of the natural forests, viz. the tiger-striped bush.
