Mating and oviposition behaviour as affected by differences in sex ratio of rice hispa

, : Mating and oviposition behaviour as affected by differences in sex ratio of rice hispa. Crop Research Hisar 13(1): 163-167

A laboratory experiment was conducted to observe if the mating behaviour and fecundity of the rice pest Dicladispa armigera was affected by a change in the ratio of males and females in a population. It was found that the life time mating (LTM) period of a female was greatest (181.72 h at a ratio of 3 males : 1 female which was followed by 163.63 h at 5 males to 3 females). The lowest LTM (82.00 h was observed at a ratio of 3 males : 5 females).
