Mbororo grazing practices and bovine trypanosomes in a humid savannah zone of the Central African Republic

Revue d' Elevage et de Medecine Veterinaire des Pays Tropicaux 48(2): 203-212
Mbororo grazing practices and bovine trypanosomes in a humid savannah zone of the Central African Republic
The authors investigated the organization of the pastoral areas of the Mbororo cattle breeders and the movements of the Zebu cattle within this space. Apart from the herders encampment the pastoral area is divided into 3 main areas: the cattle rest area, their watering place and the pasture which is criss-crossed by numerous paths. The use of the pasture is based on a spatial and temporal segregation of the movements of the cattle.
