Milk yield over three lactations of Black and White cows and various Holstein-Friesian crosses

Milk yield and milk composition of 71 Polish Black and White Lowland (BW) cows over 3 305-day lactations were compared with those of 229 BW x Holstein-Friesian (HF) crosses of different genotypes (<25%, 25.1-50%, 50%, 50.1-75%, 75% and >75% HF), kept under identical housing and feeding conditions. Average milk yields of BW cows were 4264, 5070 and 5373 kg in lactations 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
