Modelling development of stem nematode populations in white clover stolons

A thermal time simulation model of the white clover (Trifolium repens) / Ditylenchus dipsaci host / pest system has been developed. The assumptions and output of the model are outlined and illustrated. Developing nematode populations in the stolon were restricted to a limited volume termed the infestation locus. Population development was restricted by the rate of locus expansion.
