Modelling the annual shoot structure of the apricot tree (cv Lambertin) in terms of axillary flowering and vegetative growth
One-year-old shoots were sampled from 4-year-old apricot Lambertin trees at the Balandran experimental station in the south of France. The growth units exhibited a succession of differentiated zones with respect to type of axillary production and number of flowers. The resulting structure was modelled by a Markov chain. The basal part of the shoot was represented by 2 transient states.
