Modification of the expression of phenolic metabolism in walnut microshoots and reactivity in vitro
An antisense naringenin-chalcone synthase (CHS) gene strategy was developed in walnut (Juglans nigra x J. regia) to study the involvement of flavonoids in rhizogenesis. A 400 bp sequence from a walnut CHS gene in the antisense position was introduced into walnut somatic embryos via Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation.
