Studies of sesame Muganl-57 growing at Akdeniz University, Turkey, in 1993 showed that seed oil content increased rapidly in the first 40 days after 50% flowering (DAF), then increased more slowly to reach its highest content 50 DAF, subsequently decreasing. Contents of oleic and stearic acids decreased and that of linoleic acid increased during the seed development stages.
