Abstract
The morphological and physiological characteristics of Calendula officinalis plants at different ontogenetic stages were examined at different population densities. The great intensity of intrapopulational interactions in dense plantations delayed the development of plants, reduced their size, and decreased their vigour. Decreases in peroxidase and catalase activities compared with those in sparse C. officinalis populations were also noted.
