Observations on phenotype and local cellular immune responses in cattle persistently infected with foot and mouth disease virus

Observations on phenotype and local cellular immune responses in cattle persistently infected with foot and mouth disease virus

Immunobiology of viral infections Proceedings 3rd Congress of the European Society for Veterinary Virology Interlaken, Switzerland, 4-7 September 1994: 205-210

The antigenic profiles of FMDV isolates collected from the oropharynx of persistently infected cattle were examined with a panel of monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) in an indirect antigen-trapping ELISA. The local cellular immune response at the site of FMDV persistence, the dorsal soft palate, was also examined using immunohistochemistry on cryostat sections. MAb profiling showed no significant changes in 3 neutralizing antigenic sites of persistent FMDV isolates collected over 8 months.
