Oxygen stress and coleoptile growth and plastogenesis in light-germinated rice (Oryza sativa L.) seedlings

Botanical Journal of Scotland 49(1): 103-112

Unhulled rice seeds were germinated in 3 different oxygen-containing environments. Coleoptile greening was extensive in low numbers of seedlings germinated in a sealed, initially air-saturated, static water environment and in large numbers of seedlings germinated under unagitated water under ambient gaseous exchange conditions.
