Oxytetracycline residues in the milk of cows treated for clinical mastitis during the lactation period

, : Oxytetracycline residues in the milk of cows treated for clinical mastitis during the lactation period. Veterinarni Medicina 41(11): 329-333

Two groups, each of 6 cows with chronic mastitis were given oxytetracycline preparations by the intramammary route (Oxymykoin foam) or i.m. (Engemycin) once daily for 5 days after the morning milking. Milk samples were analysed by HPLC just before the first treatment and then 10 times at 24-h intervals. Residues in milk were higher in the cows treated by the intramammary route than i.m.
