A case is reported in a patient from California, USA, who developed Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) 3 weeks after engraftment from high-dose chemotherapy cycles and autologous peripheral blood progenitor cell support for relapsed lymphoma. The T helper count at diagnosis of PCP was 3/mmsuperscript 3.
