The Cajanus cajan hybrid variety PPH4 was developed by heterosis breeding in the cross MS Prabhat-DT x AL688. It was released in Punjab in 1994. Plants are profusely branching, 2.5-2.75 m tall and disease resistant. They mature in 145-147 days.
