Numerous eggs of Ascaris cf. lumbricoides were discovered in palaeolithic sediments associated with cave paintings in the Grande Grotte at Arcy-sur-Cure, France. The sediments were radiocarbon dated to between 24 660 +or- 330 to 30 160 +or- 140 years ago.
