Palm oil and its market: developing a model

, : Palm oil and its market: developing a model. Documents de Travail en Economie des Filieres, CIRAD ( 24): 145 pp.

The world vegetable oil market has two main rivals: soya oil, which is the main oil produced, and palm oil, which has the highest level of trade. Palm oil is used in the three largest oil consumption sectors: margarine, industrial cooking oil, and the domestic sector. It owes its success to its relatively low price, and to its adaptability to various different usages.
