, : Palynology of the genus Carduus L. (Compositae) in Portugal. Anales del Jardin Botanico de Madrid 54(1): 347-354

This paper reports the findings of a palynological study of the genus Carduus (Compositae in Portugal. The palynological characteristics of this genus correspond to those of the subtribe Carduinae. Its short axis and marked development of the colpi suggest that this type of pollen is primitive within the tribe and the subtribe.
