Palynotaxonomic studies in two species of Nymphoides

Palynotaxonomic studies in two species of Nymphoides

Journal of Economic and Taxonomic Botany 21(1): 151-154

Palynotaxonomy of two species of Nymphoides, N. indica (L.) Kuntze and N. hydrophylla (Lour.) Kuntze are studied. It is affirmed that the genus Nymphoides Seguier has priority and should be retained as the generic name. The separation of this genus from Gentianaceae is valid as the palynological characters of the genus differ greatly from those of the Gentianaceae members and are unique for the two different species.
