Pan-Asian spread of single fungal clone results in large scale fish kills

, : Pan-Asian spread of single fungal clone results in large scale fish kills. Veterinary Record 140(25): 653-654

Twenty isolates of A. invadans from areas in Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia and Japan were compared by random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD)-PCR using 14 10-mer primers. An average of 80.7 bands per isolate was used to calculate similarity coefficients (F). The mean similarity coefficients (F +or- sd) comparing all the isolates was 0.95 +or- 0.03.
