Pathological, immunopathological and virological findings in a field outbreak of mixed infection by bovine diarrhea (BVD) and foot and mouth disease (FMD) in cattle and buffaloes

51 male buffaloes, 3 male cattle and a cow of 4-10 months of age infected in an outbreak of mixed infections of FMD and BVD in dairy and fattening farms in Fayoum and Ismaelia Governorates, Egypt, between February and April 1993 were examined. The viruses caused varying degrees of erosion and ulceration throughout the upper and lower digestive tract. Some animals had hepatitis, bronchopneumonia, trachietis, glomerulonephritis and severe myocarditis.
