Soil management in sustainable agriculture Proceedings Third International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture, Wye College, University of London, UK, 31 August to 4 September 1993: 201-207

Maintenance of soil phosphorus (P) at levels sufficient for crop needs is an essential part of sustainable agriculture. However, P accumulation in soils of intensive crop and livestock systems can represent a long-term eutrophication hazard. Although P inputs into UK agriculture have remained relatively constant over the last 30 years, changes in land management practices have increased the potential for P loss in surface and subsurface flow.
