Photoperiodxtemperature interactions in contrasting wheat genotypes: Time to heading and final leaf number

Photoperiodxtemperature interactions in contrasting wheat genotypes: Time to heading and final leaf number

Field Crops Research 44(2/3): 73-83

The effects of photoperiod (9, 12, 15, 17, 19 and 21 h) and temperature (21/17 and 16/12 degrees C maximum/minimum) on time to heading in 2 spring wheats (a non-segregating awned selection of Sunset, and Condor), semi-winter wheat Rosella, and winter wheat Cappelle Desprez were evaluated. The last 3 cultivars respond to vernalization and so were exposed to 4 degrees for 60 d before transfer to the photoperiod and temperature treatments.
