Response of Hyoscyamus callus cultures to sodium chloride and sodium sulphate salinity

Callus cultures were established from seeds of H. muticus by culturing them on MS medium supplemented with 1 mg 2,4-D + 1 mg kinetin/litre. Calluses were subcultured several times to obtain a stock. Pieces of stock callus were then transferred to basal MS medium containing various concentrations of sodium chloride or sodium sulfate (0.0, 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2 or 1.5%). Data were recorded after 4 weeks of incubation.
