Iron mine waste soil of Orissa, India, resulted in poor growth of cowpeas (Vigna unguiculata) due to low nutrient content and microbial population. An attempt was made to study the response of cowpeas to inoculation with coselected pairs of VAM fungi and Rhizobium strains in iron mine soil, under nursery conditions.
