Response of rice to nitrogen and potassium application in Gangetic alluvial soils of West Bengal

Response of rice to nitrogen and potassium application in Gangetic alluvial soils of West Bengal

Journal of Potassium Research 11(3/4): 297-301

In a field experiment conducted at the Experimental Farm of Calcutta University, Baruipur on Gangetic alluvial soils during the kharif (wet) seasons of 1991 and 1992, application of 100 kg N + 75 kg K2O/ha in three equal splits at transplanting, active tillering and panicle initiation stages proved most effective in increasing yield attributes and grain yield of high yielding rice.
