Sixty pearl millet hybrids from crosses between 12 lines with high tillering ability and early to medium maturity and 4 isonuclear cytoplasmic male-sterile (CMS) lines (81A1, Pb311A2, Pb403A3 and 81A4) were compared for fertility restoration during the 1995 rainy season at Jodhpur. Pollen fertility restoration ability was highly variable for different cytoplasms.
