Selection of Colorado potato beetle resistant to CryIIIA on transgenic potato plants

Selection of Colorado potato beetle resistant to CryIIIA on transgenic potato plants

Resistant Pest Management 9(1): 33-34

Larvae and adults of Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) were selected with transgenic potato plants containing Bacillus thuringiensis CryIIIA delta -endotoxin. Resistant chrysomelids survived on transgenic plants for short periods. If alternative host plants were encountered after selection, the beetles survived.
