Strategies for maintaining high quality in sweet cherries during harvesting, handling and marketing

The main fruit growing area in Norway is located in the SW part of the country at 60 degrees N latitude. Compared with other sweet cherry-producing countries in Europe, the harvest season in Norway falls very late, usually from 15 July to 10 August. In Norway interest is increasing in developing high quality sweet cherry production for export markets that will benefit from the very late harvest season.
