In field trials in rabi 1991-93 at Anand, Gujarat, potatoes Kufri Badshah JF-4870 were planted on 3, 16 or 30 November and were irrigated when available soil moisture (ASM) reached 50 or 75% of total ASM, at 10- to 12-day intervals or when canopy air temperature differential ranged between +or-1 degrees C. Daily air temperature was used to determine stress degree days (SDD) for the different phenophases of the crop.
