Survey of weed population distribution and change of dominant weed species on paddy field in Kyonggi area

A survey of weed communities in paddy fields was carried out to investigate changes of weed species in 340 fields in Kyonggi Area during 1995. The weed species observed included 3 grass species, 5 sedge species, and 14 species of broadleaved and other weeds. One herbicide treatment was used in 34% of situations and more than 2 treatments were used in 66% of situations. About 25% of the single herbicide applications used butachlor G. The ratio of annual:perennial weeds was 38:62.
