Chinese Journal of Veterinary Science and Technology 26(3): 17-18

From April 1994 to October 1995, 108 cattle died of an unknown disease in 9 villages and towns of Xiji County, Ningxia, China. The acute cases died suddenly without any premonitory signs and the chronic cases died within 1 to 2 days. Investigation showed that the occurrence of the disease is regional, increasing and mostly in young cattle, with the highest mortality in 3-4- and 7-8-month old animals.
