Survival of Meloidogyne exigua in soil and coffee roots in field

Fitopatologia Brasileira 18(2): 147-150

Survival of Meloidogyne exigua in soil and coffee roots in field

Coffee trees infected by Meloidogyne exigua were cut at the soil level in the field. Half of them had the root systems eliminated. The rest were left undisturbed but the new branches were periodically eliminated which let the plant die. The second stage larva population was monitored monthly during 22 months in both treatments. Healthy coffee seedlings were planted again in the fallow area to check for M. exigua eradication.
