Survival of Xanthomonas campestris pv. vignicola causing bacterial blight of cowpea

X. campestris pv. vignicola causing bacterial blight of cowpea remained viable in seed for 390 d at 5-10 degrees C and 250 d at 10-40 degrees. It survived in soil for 260 d at 10 degrees and 100 days at 40 degrees.
