Survival of maize chlorotic mottle virus (MCMV) in crop residues and seeds

Survival of maize chlorotic mottle virus (MCMV) in crop residues and seeds

Fitopatologia 31(2): 107-113

The persistence of maize chlorotic mottle machlomovirus in fields under intensive maize cultivation was studied in the central coastal area of Peru. Field-grown plants were inoculated at the 4-leaf stage. Sampling started 6 weeks after planting at 15 d intervals. Leaves, pollen, male inflorescences, styles and roots were collected. At harvest, sampled ears and cobs were dried to obtain 4 humidity contents.
