Survival of two fungal pathogens associated with the grain discolouration of rice

Drechslera oryzae (Cochliobolus miyabeanus) and Curvularia lunata were isolated from discoloured rice grains and their survival was studied. C. miyabeanus survived for up to 120 days after inoculation at all stages of grain development. The % survival was higher in C. lunatus inoculated plants. C. lunatus survived up to 150 days after inoculation when inoculated at the flowering stage.
